What is a charm bracelet afghan?!
I’m sure many of us can remember back in the day having a favorite charm bracelet….then came the Origami Owl necklaces that were so popular for a while. They allowed us to have little charms for each of our interests to wear.
When trying to think of the perfect afghan for my son, I was trying to decide what theme to do it in. He loved sports, should I do his favorite team? But he had a favorite team for each sport so that wouldn’t work
What about games? He loves to play games but has a lot of favorites - both board games and video games so I couldn’t choose. The same when I tried to think about his TV likes, his music preferences etc.
So then I thought - what about an afghan that had a lot of different topics, all that were of interest to him!
The charm bracelet afghan is just that - a collection of squares, each 25 x 25, done in corner to corner (C2C). You pick which squares you want to do, how many squares you want to do and best of all ~~ it’s completely FREE!!
This crochet along is for everyone - and you can work it anytime. It’s a great project to do in the off months when we’re not running a Crochet Along in The Crochet Couch Facebook Group.

Q. How long is this Crochet Along going to be free and the squares available for download? A. We don’t have any plans to remove them or charge for them at this time.
Q. When are you adding more squares? A. We will be adding new squares daily during the “off months” of our regular crochet alongs. For 2023 that will be in August and December
Q. Can I make a request for a square? A. Absolutely! Scroll down a little bit and you’ll see a form to submit your request.
**please note, while requests for squares are welcome for the Charm Bracelet squares, it isn’t our goal to have squares made for entire theme afghans…..for example there will be some camping squares, but not enough different camping squares for a whole camping afghan. There will be some flower squares, but not enough different flower squares for a whole afghan.
Q. Can we share these in other groups? A. We encourage you to share the links to the free patterns everywhere! Please don’t share the actual pattern though……traffic to our website helps!
